World War I: United States Government Thrift Card, issued by the Treasury Department. Intended to hold 16 U.S. Govt 25 cent thrift stamps. This particular card actually has two stamps affixed to the first two positions. Apparently after filling the card you take it to a post office or bank during the year 1918 and they exchange it for a five dollar War Savings Certificate which can be exchanged for five dollars cash on Jan 1, 1923. $10.00

Includes 1922 Military Training Certificate from Camp Devens, Mass signed by Capt Hildebrand, Signal Corps; another Military Training Certificate from Camp Devens, 1923, signed by Colonel Bolles, Infantry; two Presidential appointment certificates, both embossed with official seal, for 1924 and 1925; a nice sepia glossy 9-1/2" print of a military training unit (probably a graduation shot); a formal photo of the lieutenant whose documents make up this lot, and a 1925 engraved wedding invitation for when he got married. $20.00
